Up for consideration is a vintage AKG CK-5 pop filter basket assembly, for converting an AKG 451 into a vocal mic. Simply screw your CK1 capsule into the CK5 pop filter, and you instantly have a vocal mic for studio, stage, or even hand-held use. These baskets feature a rubber isolator designed for the CK-1 cardioid capsule, but if hand held isolation is not needed, you can remove the isolator and use the other CMS capsule, like the CK2, CK3, Ck26 and CK28. These CK5 pop filters are also great for wind protection for outdoor use, or strong A/C blasts. No longer in production, and nearly impossible to find, here is a great opportunity to pick up one or more of these pop filters at a very reasonable price, and add even more flexibility and versatility to the great vintage C451 mic series!!!

CONDITION
These vintage CK5 pop filter assemblies are in overall good condition, with some wear on the basket paint as can be seen in the photos. Some of the units have minor ID engraving. The interior foam is old and would need to be removed or replaced. It is left intact in case you want to measure the thickness for replacement foam. The CK5 DOES NOT contain a mic capsule, and you will need an AKG C451 or C61 body with a working CK1 capsule for normal use. Other capsules can be used without the capsule isolation mount.

The CK5 pop filter is not only a great way to get a nice vocal mic, but also an alternative way to get a nice sounding acoustic guitar recording with a little less HF info due to the filter, and also has applications for wind protection during outdoor use. It is easily removable, and can accept several capsules, so this is a great way to add even more versatility to an already great mic system at a nominal cost.
