Up for consideration is an Oliver Archut mod of
an AKG C12VR microphone, with an original brass-ring CK12
capsule reskinned by Tim Campbell. Most of the original parts
of the C12VR have been replaced, and so this is really a borderline
case between a mod and a new microphone construction. Oliver
has made about 25 of these VR mods over the years, and this is
the last one he made, and he says there will be no more C12VR
mods in the future. On the vintage market, a an original AKG
C12 can sell for $10,000 or more, often with a capsule that may
no longer be in good condition. Here is a very rare chance to
pick up this mint Oliver Archut C12 mic -- with no waiting list
-- at way less than half the price of a vintage original!!!

RESOURCES
This mic is a kind of precurser to the Lucas CS-1, in
that Oliver did this same C12 mod for both Terry Manning and
Jeff Roberts, and it became evident that building a mic from
scratch might actually be a better way to go. Click
Here for the link to that story. Click
