Up for consideration is 3x of Audient Black preamp modules for their BB4 and BR10 rack enclosures. This is a larger for factor then API 500-series, and the extra space allows for additional features like the HMX tube emlution circuit, variable high-pass filter, stepped line and mic switches, and a variable trip pot. These are wonderful preamps, with a class A transformer-coupled circuit, and can excell in both nactural classical acoustic music, and when extra color is called for the HMX circuit is a fantastic tube emulation circuit. New, these preamps sell for a mere $440 each, so here is a rare opportunity to up to 3 modules with consecutive serials in near-mint condition, for just $275 each!!!

AUDIENT BLACK
The Audient Black series came about as an alternative to the the API 500-Series, in a larger form-factor to allow more room for additional processing circuits. The entire series is based on class A transformer-coupled design, with added features that will not fit in any 50--series modules. The series is extremely versatile, as it is perfectly at home in the the requirements clean/transparent genres like classical and acoustic music, but when character and color is required these units deliver that as well. The HMX circuit is the main add-on feature of the Black preamp, and it is quite good at adding warmth and grit to a synth DI, electric guitar, and even vocals. The DI can use the stepped 10 dB mic gain, or the 5 dB line gain, in addition to the trim pot. HMX can be added to both mic and line signals. I have been collecting these modules for a few years, as the performance vs. price point is remarkable. I currently have these 3 spare preamp modules in addion to my main system of 8 pres, 4 EQs, 4 comps, 2 ADCs in 2 BR10 + 1 BB4 racks. I do also have a spare BB4 rack for sale as well. I can't recomment these units highly enough.
