Up for consideration is a Blue Woodpecker active ribbon mic and mount, a modern take of the classic ribbon mic, phantom powered using an active circuit to balance the highs, and add plenty of gain. This is a great all-rounder ribbon mic that can be used for strings, brass, ac. + el. guitars, overheads, and vocals. New, these Woodpeckers mics are selling for $995 each, so here is a great opportunity to own one working perfectly, and save about $500!!!

MODERN RIBBON SOUND
Woodpeckers have an active P48 powered circuit to add gain so you don't need a specialty preamp for ribbons. In fact, the output is so hot on this mic, that I always use it with a -20dB pad. The active circuit also adds a treble boost, which gives the mic a very full-range response, yet it still has the warm glow of a ribbon. This is a 1-owner mic that I bough new about 5 years ago. I stored it in a case with Silica to keep the humidity low, but unfortunately wood cracks in 10% humidity, and this is exactly what happened with the wood vineer. I used it with a Rycote InVision mount, but am including an aftermarket Chinese mount that is just barely big enough to encompass this mic, just in case you don't have a suitable mount. That aside, this mic has very low hours, and is in perfect working condition.
