SOLD Gibson Protector 3-Latch Case • Generation 1, 1978 - 1980 • For Norlin Era SG / Les Paul Guitars Up for sale is a very good condition Gibson Protector Case for the Norlin Era Les Pauls + SGs. This is the first generation Protector case, with 3 latches. The case is perfectly functional, with no wear or deterioration on any of the latches or hinges. The case compartment opens and shuts perfectly as well. There are a few minor dings on the exterior, but overall the case is in very clean condition, and makes a perfect period-correct case for your Norlin-Era vintage Les Paul and SG. The case is shown here with these 4 guitars for reference: 2003 Epi MIK Les Paul, 1980 Sonex 180 Custom, 2001 Les Paul Junior Special, 2013 Gibson SG 60s Tribute. Note: that this does not fit the 6-on a side Norlin LP guitars like the Black Knight Custom. The case was used to house a vintage 1970s Gibson SG, so it matches the SG profile perfectly. The Sonex 180 fits fine, but is a slightly tighter fit, but the case foam will adapt to fit the LP shape with no problem, and compact to the guitar's form over time.
