Up for consideration is a very nice Gibson SG Supreme electric guitar and case. This guitar was made in the Nashville plant in January, 2002. The guitar features a flamed maple top and a beautiful Midnight Burst finish. This guitar has a repaired headstock, and accordingly the price has been drastically reduced. These guitars have been discontinued and are becoming increasingly more difficult to find. Here is a great opportunity to pick up a beautiful Midnight Burst SG Supreme and save several hundred dollars!!!

SOUND
The guitar has a great sound, with excellent sustain and wonderful full tone. Here are several quick, 1-take sound files I made just to give you an idea of what to expect. These 8 MP3s are all tracked direct into a Presonus ADL 600 tube preamp, to a Rosetta 200 A/D converter, and into Logic. The clean sounds are pure signal, with no compression EQ or added ffects. The distortion sounds are going through a Doc Scary / Scary Drive overdrive unit (see review in Jan/Feb '09 Tape Op), and all other effects are stock Logic presets.

CONDITION
This guitar is in good condition with some signs of playing wear, which can be seen in the photos. It does have the headstock repair, which has been stable for over 5 years, and is not that obvious until you start looking for it. Overall, it is an excellent player's guitar at a greatly discounted price.
