Up for consideration is a Great River MP-500NV mic preamp / DI module for portable API 500-Series rack enclosures. This preamp is well-known and highly regarded for having a vintage, Neve-sounding preamp with the ability to drive the pre for more girth, or back it off for a cleaner sound. New, these modules sell for $799, but here is a great chance to pick up one in excellent condition and with almost 4 years remaining on the warranty, and save about $200!!!

The beauty of the Great River MP500NV is not only do you get a great-sounding Neve-style preamp/DI, but you can control how hard you drive the pre to either add color (back off the Output knob), and also the flexibility of getting a cleaner sound (crank the Output, and lower the Gain). Plus, the Impedence and Loading switches and 70 dB of total gain will keep the ribbon and dynamic mics happy. This is certainly one of the best preamps being made today, and here it is very affordable and safely under warranty for several more years.
