Up for consideration is a brand new 500-Series product from Heritage Audio, the 2264JR compressor/mic pre -- a recreation of the classic Neve 2264 compressor, but using a 1073 for make-up gain. In addition, the unit can be used as a stand-alone 60 dB, 2-transistor stage 1073 mic pre when the compressor function is not needed. This is a great all-rounder comp that can be used for bass, drums, ac. / el. guitars and vocals. The current version AMS Neve 2264 comps are selling for $1,395 each, so here is a great opportunity to own one equipped with a 60 dB Neve 1073 mic preamp, and still save $200!!!

2264JR's have a great vintage Neve character and tone that imparts a smoothness and musicality to your tracks. the Make-up gain section is now a Class-A 1073, with the extra mojo that this brings to the table. And when the comp is not in use, the 2264JR doubles as a 60 dB Neve 1073 mic preamp, complete with P48 phantom, making this unit doubly useful for tracking and mixing.
