Neumann KM86
Up for consideration is a vintage pair of Neumann KM86
multi-pattern condenser microphones. These mics are highly coveted
for acoustic instruments, especially guitar, and overheads. You
will find these mics in widespread use in all the great recording
studios, like Abbey
Road, where they still have a total of 20 of these. Also,
a well-known Motown engineer is on the net saying that practically
ALL of the Motown hits were entirely recorded with their 30 KM86s!!!
New, the current Neumann multi-pattern U87 sells for $6,000 a
pair, so here is your chance to pick up a better-sounding, vintage
KM-86 pair, and save several THOUSAND dollars!

CONDITION
These mics is in very good condition for 30+ or so years
of service, with just minor scratches from normal use. The mics
sound wonderful in all 3 of the patterns. I used it briefly for
tracking Classical
Harp Guitar, and they sound warm, detailed and very musical.
I REALLY HATE to sell these, but must do so to purchase some
other equally drool-worthy gear.
