Rode NT1-A Microphone
Up for consideration is a used RODE NT1-A cardioid condenser mic. This is known as being one of the quietest condenser mics made, and also being one of the least expensive pro studio mics. CONDITION
This mic was acquired in a trade, so I am the second owner and have not used much, except for the samples below. It has some scratches from normal wear, but it functions perfectly, and sounds just like the new NT1a I bought a few years back.
MODS AVAILABLE
This mic is a great candidate for modding, as you can save some money by modding a used mic insteading of buying a brand new one. Both JJ Audio and Oktavamod have popular mods (~$375) for the mic. I have not heard the mods, but more info on both mods are here: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 .
