Schoeps CMT56
SOLD
Up for consideration is a vintage Schoeps CMT 56 multi-pattern mic, featuring the MK6 three-pattern capsule. These mics are quite versatile as a main pair for remotes as well as for studio use, as they excell on acoustic instruments. The 3-patterns capsule can also be used in M/S, X/Y and Blumlein configurations. The MK6 capsule has now been discontinued -- as they were expensive to manufacture and difficult to service, so here is a great opportunity to own a recently refurbished CMT56 with a brand-new body housing, and gold-plated XLR contacts!!!

CLASSIC SCHOEPS SOUND
The MK6 caspule has a Figure 8 pattern which is very similar to the MK8 ( chart); the Cardioid pattern has a slight HF lift, and is very similar to the MK4V (chart); also, you get the omni pattern thrown in for free. A new CMC6 mic amp with the 3 separate capsules will run you a total $3,845, so this mic saves you about $2,500!!!
The CMT design amplifier is the older design, running on P48 phantom power, with a relatively low power consumption. The CMT 5 series is also the only mic amp from the CMC / CMT series that is transformer-coupled!!
