Up for consideration is a Schoeps MK240 Cardioid capsule for the M221, CMT30 and CMMT30F mics. This is a cardioid capsule optimized for close-micing of speech at about 30 cm, but can also can be used for strings, ac. guitars, piano and even vocals. It is also highly regarded as a "speech cardioid" for voiceovers and for live sound in reverberant churches. New, the current version MK40 capsules are selling for a whopping $996 each, so here is a great opportunity to own one refurbished by Schoeps, and in near-mint condition, and still save about $650!!!

CLASSIC SCHOEPS SOUND
The MK240 is from the famous M221 capsule series, and is optimized for close micing at about 30 CM. It has bass roll-off to compensate for proximity effect, and a slight 4 dB HF bump. It is designed for speech, but can be used at close distances for acoustic instruments, either in the studio, or for live performances.
