Antique Swiss Glarner Cittern Zither, ca 1850s * IN STOCK *
Museum Quality, Dual Soundholes, Made in Switzerland

Up for consideration is a very rare and unusual, dual-soundhole, early Swiss Zither from ca 1850s. Instrument has no label, and appears to be unsigned on the underneath of the soundboard or on the back, inside the sound holes. Zither has a pine top, stained maple back and sides, probably colored fruitwood scroll bridges and finger board, 15 brass frets, 3 melody strings, 9 sympathetic strings, ebony and probably non-original ebony and mother of pearl bridge pegs, total length 68 cm, scale 38.4 cm, width 36 cm, depth 5.7 cm. Here is a great opportunity to pick up an extremely rare, and important, museum-quality early Swiss Glarner Zither.
