1940s Harmony Brodway H954 / Biltmore State Archtop Guitar * IN STOCK *
Model 528H954 w/Solid Spruce Soundboard, Fixed Truss Rod!!
Nut Width: 1 3/4" (44.3mm), 15 1/4" Lower Bout, 3 1/2" Depth
Up for consideration is a very unusual guitar: it is a Harmony-built H954 Broadway that has been badged as a Biltmore State. The guitar has several upgrades from the standard Broadway, most notable are the solid spruce soundboard with 2 parallel braced tone bars, along with a fixed, non-adjustable truss rod. In addition, it has some unusual high-end checkerboard binding, and a matching upscale pickguard. This is a vintage 1940s acoustic archtop, that still has a nice, full tone, and is a much better guitar than the later years of the laminated Harmony Broadway
This guitar is in fair condition, and has some signs of use and wear, including 3 small holes on the top where a pickup and volume control were at one time attached. There is also some white overspray that looks like was from a paint job on a different guitar. There is also some wear on the neck, and holes in the headstock for use with mounting a guitar strap. The bridge adjustment wheels are removed to lower the action. Does not come with a case, but will be shipped in a vintage gig bag.
