Neumann KM84

Up for consideration is a vintage Neumann KM84 condenser microphone. These mics are highly coveted for acoustic instruments, especially guitar and overheads. You will find these mics in widespread use in all the great recording studios, like Abbey Road, where they currently have 28 of them!!! New, a KM 140 --Neumann's equivalent model -- sells for $1,349 street, so here is your chance to pick up a better-sounding, vintage, collectable KM84 and save several hundred dollars!

CONDITION
This mic is in excellent condition, with minor wear from normal use. The vent grill is in good condition, and the capsule threads perfectly as well. The case does not latch shut and the case serial # is not an exact match the mic #(see last photo), but the mic has no issues.

MODULAR MIC
This mic also accepts the KK83 omni and KK85 speech cardiod capsules, so you can turn this mic into a KM83 or a KM85 simply by switching out the capsule heads, which are still available directly from the Parts Department of Sennheiser USA, Neumann's parent company.
