Jose Ramirez 1970 Flamenco
Up for consideration is a vintage Jose Ramirez 2a Flamenco
guitar. This guitar was handmade in the famous Ramirez
workshop in Madrid, in 1970, by Juan Miguel Guardiola Moreno.
This guitar was his test to be promoted to a 1a master luthier.
He passed the test, and all of his subsequent guitars were labeled
1a. New, these wonderful guitars sell for over $10,000, and even
on the used market Ramirez guitars near the 1960s Golden Age
sell for several thousand dollars. Here is a rare chance to pick
up a wonderful Ramirez handmade Flamenco in excellent condition
at a tremendous discount!!!

CONDITION
This guitar is in amazing condition for a 40-year-old
instrument. The neck, back and sides are essentially mint. The
top has a superficial crack repair on the bass side of the lower
bout, by German Vasquez Rubio, who cleated the crack and refinished
the top.
SOUND
The guitar has a wonderful sound, with great projection
and a beautiful deep basses, and very nice trebles. Compared
to my former Contreras
2a Flamenco, this guitar is much, much nicer sounding.
Here are several sound files to give you an idea of what to expect.
These 16 MP3 files have no compression, EQ or reverb -- just
mic'd through a pair of Schoeps CMT 30 mics, into a Presonus
ADL 600 preamp into a Rosetta 200 A/D converter. The
last sound clip with viola has some reverb added.
