Cardioid/Omni caps + a MK 241
Up for consideration is a very rare pair of Schoeps CMT
30 FN microphones. This is the only Schoeps FET body that
uses the exact same capsules of the world famous M221
series. This set includes two CMT 30 FNU bodies, a M934b, an
M934C (both are switchable omni / cardioid), as well as a MK241

The bodies have been converted to XLR and run at 12 Volts, but
can safely be powered standard 48 Volt Phantom Power, as long
as you power on and off the mics AFTER connecting them (i.e.,
they are not hot-swapable). A M221A set just sold on eBay for
$3200 without cables or PSUs. New, this set in CMC would cost
you over $5,500, so here is your chance to pick up a excellent
condition CMT 30 FNU set of world-class microphones with the
beloved M221 capsules, and save several THOUSAND dollars!

CONDITION
These mics are in excellent condition. I just had the
M934b and the Mk 241 serviced, and they all perform perfectly.
I only used them briefly for tracking Classical
Harp Guitar, and they sound amazing -- just like an M221b
I recently
sold. I REALLY HATE to sell these, but must do so to finance
a C12VR makeover as well as a Ramirez 6- to 10-string
guitar conversion.
OTHER INFO
These mics accept the capsules from the original M221
series (non-A, non-B). Also these capsules will fit the M221
body (non-A, non-B). They are all in mylar, and are much more
stable under swings in humidity and temperature. I found the
sound indistinguishable, myself between the M221b and the same
capsule on the CMT 30 FN, which lead me to believe that the magic
in the M221 series is in their capsules!!! The Phase Ring is
needed 100% of the time on the MK 241 hypercardioid. The Phase
Ring needs to be on the M934b in Cardiod mode only, while the
M934c needs no phase ring at all in either mode.
