Up for consideration is a vintage Gibson L50 archtop guitar and case, a fine sounding example from the time when Gibson had phenomenal tonewoods for their carved spruce tops. This is a great sounding acoustic archtop with power to compete with much louder instruments, while still able to play with subtle beauty. New Gibson acoustic archtops like the L7C cost several thousand dollars, and here is a great opportunity to get a better-sounding vintage 1948 acoustic archtop and save several thousand dollars!!!

CLASSIC ARCHTOP SOUND
L50's have a great Gibson Archtop character and tone that makes them so fun to play. The high end is accuentated, and the transients are quick. It is an instrument with a lot of dynamic range, as it can play very loud -- to keep up with sax, bass drums, yet at the same time it handles the quiet passages with clarity. Not just for Jazz, these instruments can handle playing in any style, and excell in any ensemble situation, and are especially effective accompanying vocalists.
